The fishing spot is of fundamental importance when it comes to fishing with the bolo rod. Today's session takes place on the cliff, a rather particular point that can be tricky if not prepared properly.
Today's experts from the Colmic team go to Piombino, to a cliff full of fish and are therefore ready to face an unforgettable session with the bolo rod.
The climatic conditions, once arrived on the spot, are perfect even if not optimal for the type of fishing that the protagonists want to face. In fact, a greater cloudiness would be preferable to clear skies, although as explained by the protagonists, often in fishing sessions convictions can change and conditions that seem worse bring the best results. And that's what the team hopes for in today's video.
The cliff at about ten meters underwater leaves room for a rather sandy bottom, which suggests to the protagonists to fish with a particular setting. The floats are three grams plunged and the line is very open, i.e. a one-and-a-half metre terminal with a bulk of about five pellets at an average distance of 50 centimetres from the floats. Subsequently, four pellets are left very far from each other just to leave the line soft and float the bait right near the bottom.
The first fish to be eaten on the proposed bait is a beautiful gilthead seabream, which gives confidence to the protagonists to continue the catch, hoping for other equally beautiful catches. Despite this, the following prey are all quite small in size and are released immediately into the sea.
The presence of other fishermen and numerous nets leads the protagonists to move to another spot to try to catch something more.
The cliff on which they move is not the most comfortable and puts a strain on the skills of the protagonists who try to fish at their best despite the difficulties.
Small and medium size saddled seabream eat on maggots baits and are then promptly released. Their presence in schools makes the session more fun and lively than ever.
The plunged floats that the protagonists of the video test during the day have a perfect calibration, thus avoiding any interweaving on the fishing line.
They have a light plumbing and are suitable for the use of thin and extremely soft lines. Another fantastic ally that is put into fishing during the session is the unbeatable Secol Match, a soft thread, more elastic and high strength that makes the difference in a fishing session like today. The fish's mouthparts are extremely varied and a wire with considerable resistance is also ideal for catching saddled seabream, which are equipped with a rather sharp mouthparts.
Gilthead bream, saddled seabream and salema ate on the baits, biting one after the other on the maggots put in fishing.
The change of spot has not demoralized the Colmic team, which once again returns home at the end of a more than satisfactory fishing session.
