Razor Clams and Cuttlefish Stripes Trigger for Surfcasting Fishing

Surfcasting Triggers 2

Trabucco Team, for Surfcasting fishing, presents two highly catching triggers for fishing in after storm conditions sea: whole razor clam and cuttlefish stripes.

Razor clam is undoubtedly one of the favorite baits for surfcasting fishing in the cold season, perfect above all to undermine sea bream, bream and sand steenbras, prey that can not resist its soft but incredibly resistant consistency.

Cuttlefish, on the contrary, is a bait that makes it very good in any fishing conditions at sea. An economic but super effective solution that never fails.

WHOLE RAZOR CLAM TRIGGER WITHOUT SHELL

The most common procedure and also the one chosen by Roberto Accardi is the trigger of the whole razor clam without shell.

Surfcasting Triggers

Through the use of a specific surfcasting needle we proceed to gently open the shell to take off the razor clam muscle that thanks to the help of the needle is well spread and triggered on a Trabucco hook, Akura 115 R series.

The next step is fixing the muscle by making several turns with an elastic thread, a trick that allows you to make the bait more solid and significantly increase its strength during the launch.

It is obviously important to remember, as specified by Roberto himself in the course of the video, that the hook to be used must be chosen based on the size of the bait to trigger and never the opposite.

CUTTLEFISH STRIPES TRIGGER

The first thing to do is inevitably cut the strip of cuttlefish making sure it is no longer than 15 cm and wide at most 2.

The foresight of experts like Emiliano Tenerelli of the Trabucco team is to not create a strip that has the same width for the whole length. They start with a narrower cut that widens towards the end of the cuttlefish strip.

Unlike to what happened for the razor clam trigger, the technique used by the Trabucco team is not to use the needle support to trigger the strip, but starts directly with the hook, entering and exiting a zig zag along the length of the cuttlefish.

The hook used is light, very sharp and sturdy, a ChinuEye 3/0 Shinken series specific for prey such as sea bream and bream, tied with an XPS Ultra Strong FC 403 0.40 mm rigs.

These are deadly triggers that, during the fishing session, have brought excellent results by often making the two prodigies fishermen also very nice catches.
