A technical session of sport fishing of lake trout technique with Maver and the expert fishermen of the ASD North East.
The session is immediately presented in its difficulty, those of a not so promising autumn day with enough suspicious prey that stationed about two meters from the surface.
The fishing action will not be the simplest, a purely research session that will be based on understanding at all times where the prey is, what it wants to eat and how to try to animate the bait to make more seductive and push the rainbow trout, quite apathetic, to attack. They immediately go fishing with pencil floats and small trout floats.
The session is also an opportunity to test the new Maver 2018-2019 equipment specific for lake trout.
The first to enter the field is the new Superpenna rod, a real Maver jewel, made and fully patented by Reglass. An innovative Bolognese, designed specifically for fishing with a pencil float, made of the best high modulus carbon and finished with the most innovative resins.
The rod has been launched on the market in two models, the 5-meters and the 6-meters, both available in a version without components. The company's original frame includes a block for the 5-meters rod and two blocks for the 6-meters model.
Bites are very shy and must be sought with patience. The triggers used almost exclusively involve the use of both white and red worms.
The trigger proposed and explained by one of the experts is quite simple: the hook must be passed about 3-4 millimetres under the head of the worm and returned to the area of the tail. The goal is to slide the larva along the hook up to the headstock. A single trigger that can also be made with double larvae, perhaps of a different color to make the "bite" more appetizing to trout.
Another rod presented is the Lake Trout, a top of the range rod exciting and incredibly sensitive. A very wide series that includes 7 actions, able to ensure both a light fishing and research that the use of trout float up to 40 grams.
The equipment for the session is all by Maver, fishing with two new floats through the wire, the Mark Trout and the Tekno Trout, both made in Italy and made with the best materials, floats sought not only by agonists but also by amateurs who appreciate the characteristics.
The best Japanese quality, the fluorocarbon SRL made by Smart, a line that can boast an additional resistance of 30% compared to normal fluorocarbon. A completely invisible wire, resistant to knots and abrasion, marketed in the practical 75-meter spool.
With the SRL the experts of the APD North East association have created an incredibly efficient sonar mounting: 4 sliding leads mounted on a piece of about half a meter. The diameter chosen was one slightly larger than the main line, one 0.19 or 0.20, equipped with 2 swivels at the ends between which the sliding leads are mounted. As a stopper a rubber bead and a piece of silicone to protect the integrity of the knot.
To finish the fishing setting, the Maver série 1095 hooks from Katana, very resistant hooks with long shank, perfect for trout fishing both in the river and the lake. For the session in question, the hooks were tied to the Valsesian and the mustache reclined upwards, a cleverness that allows the larva to turn much more than a traditional frame and thus greatly promotes the call for trout.
A session that is anything but simple, but that ends in the best possible way, with different catches and a lot of satisfaction.
