Housing (at Acute Jig 8000, housing and rotor) are made of seawater-resistant duralminium and also all other components such as ball bearings, main axle, etc., are of course stainless. The gearbox is "made of metal" and the brake is equipped with carbon fibre discs. This makes the braking forces extremely strong (for exact values, see table). This reel is a faithful companion for years, maybe even a reel for life! Even though all components are made of stainless material, the reel should be rinsed with fresh water after each use in salt water.
