The new episode of Feeder in Tour by the Tubertini team takes us to the shores of Bolsena Lake in the heart of Italy, for a session of pellet feeder fishing in search of tench, carp and chub that populate the crystal clear waters of the lake.
Bolsena lake is an important and marvellous naturalistic and environmental setting, a reservoir of volcanic origin formed more than 300 thousand years ago. An area of 113 km2 fed by the river Marta that, after leaving Bolsena lake, flows directly into the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The fishing session takes place outside the port of Capodimonte and the approach chosen by experts is that of fishing under the shore from the rocks. This approach was dictated by the analysis of the seabed, which during the measurement led to the discovery of the presence of a sea weed bed rather thick from about 5 meters from the shore.
The launches will then be made at a distance of 2-3 meters from the last rocks with very short rigs, about ten centimeters, made with Next Fluorine of 0.16.
Sliding Open Ends have been chosen as feeders, perfect to be mounted in-line. The experts of the Tubertini team closed with adhesive tape one side of the feeder that was filled with maggots. Thanks to the in-line mount, the triggered hook can be inserted into the feeder and camouflaged with maggots. The whole thing is blocked with a small pasture "cap"; the fisherman's skill lies in not pressing this pasture too hard so that it disintegrates in the right time so that the fish arrives in the baiting area and can fall into the trap of the hidden hook.
Three fishing rods: the 12-foot TB Concept with light action, the flagship of Tubertini's house, the 12-foot R18 with medium-light action and the 13-foot Excess Feeder, a more powerful rod, destined for carp fights.
At the landing net arrive fish with exceptional livery and bright colors that almost seem to come out of paintings, almost all of them undermined by pellets feeders with the maggots trigger on hooks 12 or 14 of the series 229.
In the space dedicated to technical analysis, experts focus on the creation of a fishing system that allows a quick replacement of the setting thanks to the presence of a quick release swivel and a soft sheath of one millimeter, the Mc Flexi Rig Tubing. Once the mounting is connected to the swivel, the sheath is slid over the connection point to cover the knots and avoid any risk of tangles.
This system allows, for example, as happened during the video session, to replace in two seconds an in-line pellet feeder setting with a more classic sliding running rig.
