Intent on shooting videos dedicated to fishing from the boat on the Ionian coast of Calabria, Stefano Passarelli cannot resist the temptation of a beautiful day with a summer flavor that pushes him to enjoy a few hours of fun with Eging fishing.
After contacting his friends and recovering the necessary equipment, all he has to do is going to the beach and wait for the Ionian cuttlefish, which in October get very close to the coast for reproduction.
Eging, as Stefano keeps repeating during the short film, is a fishing of pure fun. Few tools are needed to spend hours in a carefree way: a spinning rod, a model whose length can vary from 2.10 to 2.70 meters with casting 8-15, 7-21, a reel suitable to balance the rod-reel match, a quality braided with a thin diameter on the reel, a leader in fluorocarbon and squid jig, lures specially designed to threaten cephalopods.

Eging is a research technique, you make a couple of launches, you probe the seabed to the shore and then you move. The recovery can be done in various ways, Stefano reminds us that the only thing really important is to maintain contact with the bottom because it is right near the latter that cuttlefish are used to prey.
The soft and progressive action of the rod, combined with the thin diameter of the braided, will allow you to hear in a clear and sudden every slight movement and eaten on the lure.
