Spearheading Berkley's first venture into the high tension world of European catfish angling is a brand new 11-strong series of rods purpose designed by many of the continent's leading cat fishermen. Built to last with tremendously powerful HR carbon blanks, aluminium reel seats and double-legged guides, the range starts with three spinning rods- 7ft (2.1m), 8ft (2.4m) and 9ft 4in (2.82m) - which have respective casting weight ratings of 60-150, 80-200 and 100-250gr. Of two-piece construction, they are furnished with rubber cork handles and SiC guides. Next come two Vertic rods - a heavy duty 7ft 3in (2.2m) Boat model capable of casting 150-300gr payloads, the other a 6ft 6in Casting version for 50-150gr weights. There is also a 7ft (2.1m) Interline Boat rod, again rated for 150-300gr casting weights. Float fanatics will appreciate a specialist 9ft 3in (2.82m) Catfish Float rod, and the increasingly popular technique of pellet fishing also has its own dedicated Catfish Pellet rod measuring 11ft (3.3m) with a 5lb test curve to deal with giant Silure in the 150lb-plus bracket.Finally, three Premium Catfish Spin rods add a more economical price sector to the range.
